Corporate Business Plan

Report of the Chief Executive

Contact: Gary Smith, ext 01962 847691 e-mail [email protected]

Last year the six corporate aims were replaced with three corporate priorities:

· Hampshire safer and more secure for all

· Maximising wellbeing

· Enhancing our quality of place.

The Corporate Business Plan translates these priorities into specific areas for action and targets for improvement for the 2007/08 financial year, completing the `golden thread' linking activities from top to bottom within Hampshire County Council as follows:

Golden Thread for Hampshire County Council

            Political Vision

    Corporate Priorities

       Corporate Business Plan

     Service Plans

    Individual Performance Plans (IPPs)

The Corporate Business Plan increases accountability and transparency with named Executive Members, Chief Officers and Service Managers responsible for each target and action and will be formally monitored and reported at the full and half year points.

The Corporate Business Plan is not intended to be a list of everything the County Council does, it just concentrates on development/improvement work that Cabinet specifically want to prioritise. In developing the Corporate Business Plan synergy with the LAA (Local Area Agreement) and other partner plans has been maximised.

Political Vision: Corporate Priorities

Values

The following set of values sit alongside the Corporate Business Plan:

    · removing barriers to opportunities and improving choice for all

    · responding to the improvements that people say they want

    · planning for and investing in the future

    · encouraging partnership, participation and contribution.
