APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRMAN AND VICE-CHAIRMEN OF THE AUTHORITY AND CHIEF FIRE OFFICERS' ASSOCIATION (CFOA) VICE-PRESIDENT ELECT

The Authority has appointed Councillor M.F. Cartwright as Chairman and Councillors P.A. Health and R. Smith (Southampton) as Vice-Chairmen until its Annual Meeting in 2008. Also, it has congratulated Chief Officer John Bonney on being appointed as Vice-President Elect of the Chief Fire Officers' Association. Mr. Bonney is to take up this position from May, 2008 and the Presidency itself from May, 2009 for a twelve month period. CFOA is instrumental in formulating national Fire Service policy, advising senior officials and Ministers, as well as lobbying for legislative change.
