1 Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

That the Executive Member for Children and Families approves the action plan in response to the inspection of Swanwick Lodge.

2 Reason

2.1 This decision supports the following Hampshire County Council priorities:

"Making Hampshire safer and more secure for all" - by addressing offending behaviour

"Maximising well-being" - by addressing the care and support needs of vulnerable young people

2.2 The decision supports all the aims of the Children Act by ensuring that the service at Swanwick Lodge supports the health care needs, educational attainment and development of independence and life skills of vulnerable young people.

3.1 The OfSTED report contains a number of requirements to retain the license to operate and it is necessary to ensure the action plan responds in full.
