1 Summary

The following decision was made:

1.1 That the Executive Member for Policy and Resources approves the proposals for the development of a remodelled system of awards for music and dance and the Directors of Children's Services and Recreation & Heritage be given delegated authority to implement the recommendations as described in the supporting report.

1.2 That the remodelled schemes are jointly promoted with the Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme as a complete package to support excellence in performance by young people

1.3 That any applications in 2007/8 and 2008/9 that cannot be accommodated within existing budgets be submitted to the Executive Member for Policy and Resources Executive for approval, up to a financial limit of £40,000.

2 Reason

2.1 To provide a clear and transparent route for all applications from young people who aspire to excellence in music and dance. The proposed scheme will maximise well-being and enhance quality of place by providing opportunities for young people in Hampshire to aspire to excellence.
