Financial Assistance to Voluntary Organisations and Other Bodies

1. Summary

1.1. The following decisions are sought:

    a) That approval be given to grants being awarded to those voluntary organisations and other bodies as shown in the sums below:-

    1. Ranvilles Rangers Youth Football Club, Fareham

£5,000 and invite all Fareham

Members to consider contributions from their local budgets

    2. Friends of Hyde Abbey Garden, Winchester

£3,000

    3. Hayling Island Age Concern

£1,000 and invite Councillor Gale to consider a contribution from his local budget

    4. Hampshire Magistrates (in conjunction with the Citizenship Foundation)

Refer to Children Services Department for consideration

    5. Romsey Town Council

£5,000 and invite Councillor Cooper to consider contribution from his local budget with advice that the matter be referred to another Member for determination as per the devolved Members' budget protocol

    b) That a grant of up to £3,500 be awarded towards the cost of the Care at End of Life Research project.

    c) That a capital grant of £50,000 to the Countryside Education Trust in Beaulieu towards the New Forest Treehouse Study Centre Project in financial years 2007/08 and 2008/09 be approved and invite the local Member to consider a contribution from his local budget.

2. Reason(s):

2.1. The awarding of these grants would support all of the County Council's Corporate Priorities by making Hampshire safer and more secure for all, Maximising well-being and Enhancing our quality of place.
