1. Summary:

A decision is sought to approve this final version of Hampshire County Council's Strategic Priorities For The Visitor Economy 2007-2012 for implementation by Hampshire County Council and its partner organisations.

2. Reason

2.1 These decisions will support the following Corporate Strategy aims

1. Maximise wellbeing

· By providing fair and equal access to information through enhanced information provision

· Reducing income disparities through increased visitor spend into the economy

· Sustaining cultural infrastructure and visitor attractions through increased visitor spend

2. Enhancing quality of place

· Sustaining rural services through visitor spend eg public transport, village shops and pubs

· Promoting sustainable practices such as encouraging public transport and green tourism

3. Other Options considered and rejected:
