1. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Members were mindful that, where they believed that they had a personal or personal prejudicial interest any matter to be considered at the meeting, they should normally, at the time of the debate, declare their interest, and having regard to the circumstances described in paragraphs 9, 10, 11 and 12 of the County Council's Code of Conduct, consider whether to leave the meeting whilst the matter was discussed.

2. APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRMAN

RESOLVED:

That Councillor T.K. Thornber, CBE be appointed Chairman of the Panel

3. EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC

RESOLVED:

That, but virtue of paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 the press and public be excluded from the meeting.

4. APPOINTMENT OF ASSISTANT DIRECTORS OF SOCIAL SERVICES

The Panel considered the confidential details of short-listed candidates for the two posts of Assistant Directors of Adult Services. They received a presentation from the Recruitment Consultant. After full consideration it was

RESOLVED:

That:

a. The post of Assistant Director, Older People and Physical Disability Adult Services be offered to Gill Duncan.

b. No appointment be made for the post of Assistant Director Learning Disability and Mental Health, Adult Services.
