Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That approval is given to:

1. The governance arrangements as set out in the report.


2. The appointment of Councillor C Davidovitz as Vice Chairman of the Advisory Committee and that this be recommended to the County Council.


3. The appointment of Lord Sainsbury of Preston Candover KG and

Roy Lancaster as Patrons of the Gardens for a period of two years up to September 2009.


4. The Masterplan for the SHHG being updated and finalised and submitted to the Arboretum Trust Board for approval.

Reason(s)

2.1

To formally implement the new governance arrangements for the Gardens which have been introduced following a review of the Gardens by the Charity Commission in 2005. To increase the number of Patrons of the Gardens and update the original masterplan produced over 10 years' ago.

2.2

The introduction of new governance arrangements and revised masterplan will enhance the quality of place for all visitors to and users of the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens.
