Background The report from HMI entitled Making Sense of Religious Education was published in July 2007. This was a very significant report in terms of its recommendations and the potential impact on RE nationally. Members of the monitoring sub group met to discuss the issues in the report and their implications. The group noted that a number of the recommendations made by HMI have been addressed in Hampshire through the Agreed Syllabus Living Difference. A response to the report was compiled and sent to the government minister responsible for religious education, to QCA (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority ) and Ofsted, on behalf of SACRE via the Executive Member for Education.
