1. Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

    i. That a series of Orders be made for the introduction of Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the ten sections of byway listed below.

      Farringdon BOAT No. 25

      Ashmansworth BOAT No. 18

      Chawton BOAT No. 10

      East Meon BOAT No. 42

      Farringdon BOAT No. 26

      Four Marks BOAT No. 25

      Hawkley BOAT No. 24

      Hawkley BOAT No. 26

      Rockbourne BOAT No. 32

      Whitsbury BOAT No. 19a

ii. Once these Orders are in place, a further report should be prepared for the Executive Member for Recreation and Heritage seeking approval for the making of Permanent Traffic Regulation Orders on the nine sections of byway listed below.

      Ashmansworth BOAT No. 18

      Chawton BOAT No. 10

      East Meon BOAT No. 42

      Farringdon BOAT No. 26

      Four Marks BOAT No. 25

      Hawkley BOAT No. 24

      Hawkley BOAT No. 26

      Rockbourne BOAT No. 32

      Whitsbury BOAT No. 19a

2. Reason

2.1 Farringdon BOAT No.25 has recently been resurfaced and a period of restricted use is required to allow the material to bed down. The Orders will allow the other routes to recover from damage caused by an unsustainable level of use by motorised vehicles.

2.2 This Decision supports the Corporate Priorities of Maximising Well-being and Enhancing our Quality of Place.

3. Other Options Considered and Rejected.

Not to introduce Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders.

4. Conflicts of interest declared by the decision maker or other Executive Member consulted.

    None.

5. Dispensation by the Standards Committee

    Not applicable.

6. Reasons for the matter being dealt with if urgent.

    Not applicable.
