1. Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

That the outcomes of the Recreation and Heritage Department's participation in the national Cultural Pathfinder programme be noted and that this report be referred to the Culture and Communities Select Committee for information.

2. Reason

2.1 Hampshire's participation in the national Cultural Pathfinder programme between 2005 and 2007 has raised the profile of the County Council's Discovery Centre projects and given them national recognition. It has also allowed the Department to develop a rigorous approach to the evaluation of the impact of cultural projects on key national and local priorities, including those in the Corporate Strategy.
