1 Introduction

1.1 The Pension Fund's tenth Annual General Meeting was held at Westley Court, Sparsholt College on Monday 17 September 2007.

1.2 This report summarises the attendance and the response from employers to the AGM.

2 Attendance

2.1 In total, 62 representatives from 33 employers attended the 2007 AGM. This is an improvement compared with 2006 when 46 people attended from 28 employers.

2.2 All the major employers were represented, including both city councils, all 11 district councils and the police and fire and rescue authorities. In addition, 17 colleges and admitted bodies were present. Efforts will continue to encourage employers to attend future AGMs.

2.3 The response from attendees was positive with many highlighting the presentation by Nicola Horlick of Bramdean Asset Management and the opportunity to discuss issues with Panel members and officers during lunch. Employers were keen to know more about the new-look Local Government Pension Scheme, due to be implemented from April 2008, and the prospects for employer contribution rates for 2008/09 onwards from the ongoing actuarial review. The County Treasurer undertook to keep employers informed about developments.

3 Conclusions

3.1 The AGM continues to form an important part of the Pension Fund's Communications Strategy, alongside the Annual Report, the annual leaflet for pensioners and contributors and the pensioners' newsletter.

3.2 The AGM for 2008 will be held at Westley Court, Sparsholt on morning of Tuesday, 23 September 2008.
