Allocation of Local Authority Business Growth Incentive (LABGI) funding

1. Summary:

The following decision is sought:

a) That a proportion of the recent LABGI windfall receipt be allocated to three schemes in support of local businesses and communities.

    b) That 30% of future LABGI receipts be allocated to economic development projects.

2. Reason

2.1 Responds to the needs arising from the proposed withdrawal of post office services.

2.2 Responds to the aims of the scheme to provide local authorities with an incentive to support local businesses and communities.

2.3 The schemes proposed are most likely to achieve the desired impacts and fit with with the Corporate Business Plan and Corporate Priorities.
