Subject: Transport Studies - Update
1. Summary
1.1 The following decisions are sought:
(i) To note the progress on the transport studies and approve the process for taking them forward.
(ii) That authority be given to submit appropriate funding bids for sub-regional priority schemes when funding resources become available.
2. Reasons
2.1 To note the final programme for the Sub-Regional Transport Studies and to approve the proposed process for taking the funding and conclusions of the studies forward.
2.2 Whilst the Regional Funding Allocation will represent the main opportunity to demonstrate the importance and the implementation timescale for the schemes that emerge from the investigations, it is expected that other funding streams will be announced, which will be advantageous to bid for. These may well arise with little forewarning and may not necessarily mesh with the schedule of planned meetings for the Transport for South Hampshire Joint Committee. If such new funding opportunities become available, it will be necessary for the partnership to respond swiftly, if South Hampshire is to maximise opportunities for external funding.
