1. Summary:
The following decision is sought:
That a `Silver Hampshire Hog' be presented to Peter Robertson on the occasion of his retirement as Chief Executive of Hampshire County Council.
2. Reasons
The `Silver Hampshire Hog' Award Scheme was established by the Leader of the Council on 25 July 2003 to recognise the outstanding contributions of individuals or organisations to the economic, social or environmental well being of the County and its communities. The awards are to be made at the discretion of the Leader of the Council subject to formal decision by him in the interests of openness and transparency.
Peter Robertson has made a significant contribution to the County and its communities since his appointment as County Secretary in 1990 and subsequently as Chief Executive in 1996. He was also Clerk to the Lieutenancy, Clerk to the Police Authority and Clerk to the Fire and Rescue Authority. Since his appointment, the County Council has become one of the leading authorities in the country and has achieved and maintained the status of `Excellent Authority' since 2002.
