Financial Assistance to Voluntary Organisations and Other Bodies

1. Summary

1.1. The following decisions are sought:

    a. That approval be given to grants being awarded to those voluntary organisations and other bodies as shown in the sums below.

    4,250 and invite local members to contribute the remaining shortfall

    6. British Military Powerboat Trust, Hythe

    Invite local member to consider contribution from his budget

    7. Winchester Action for Climate Change (WinACC)

    3,000 towards education programme

    8. Sounds of Steel, Portchester

    2,500 and invite local member to consider contribution from his budget

    9. Blue Apple Theatre Company, Winchester

    6,000 p.a. from 2007/08

    b. That a sum of £80,000 be carried forward into the 2008/09 budget and earmarked for the Winchester Cathedral Development Appeal, subject to the approval of the final scheme.

2. Reason(s):

2.1. The awarding of these grants would support all of the County Council's Corporate Priorities by making Hampshire safer and more secure for all, Maximising well-being and Enhancing our quality of place.
