(Summary of an EXEMPT decision)

Summary

1.1

The following decision is sought:

That, subject to the approval of a project appraisal for the new School:

a) approval be given to the acquisition of a 2.7 hectare site to the south of Abbotts Ann for the building of a replacement School for the existing Abbotts Ann CE Primary School as set out in the report, with the Acting Director of Property Business and Regulatory Services (Head of Estates) being authorised to settle detailed terms and conditions.

Reason

2.1

This decision supports the following Hampshire County Council priorities:

· Making Hampshire safer and more secure and maximising well-being for all by helping young people to live positive lives by providing improved School premises to give the best start possible through their educational experience and other Children's Services available.

· Enhancing the quality of place by providing a new School of high quality and energy-efficient design.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

Consideration has been given to relocating the School onto the existing detached playing fields site. However this has proved unsuitable in terms of size and access difficulties
