Increased budget for Countryside Access Forum Small Grants Scheme

1. Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

That an additional £10,000 is allocated to the Countryside Access Forum Small Grants Scheme budget from 2008/09, bringing the total budget to £20,000. This additional allocation will be funded from existing resources.

2. Reason

2.1 The scheme enables Parish Councils and landowners to design and deliver improvements to the countryside access network (principally rights of way), contributing a considerable amount of match funding and volunteer time in return for Council resources. The scheme contributes to the Corporate Strategy by maximising well-being and enhancing quality of place.

3. Other Options Considered and Rejected.

- To provide no additional funding.
