1 Summary

1.1 This report sets out changes to the proposed Children's Services revenue budget for 2008/09 and provisional budgets for 2009/10 and 2010/11 following approval by Cabinet and the County Council.

1.2 The following decisions are sought:
That the Executive Lead member for Children's Services (Education):

a) Agrees the proposed use of new government grants as outlined in this report.

b) Agrees the changes to the 2009/10 and 2010/11 Schools Budget proposals agreed by Schools Forum.

1 Reasons

1.1 Decisions on Children's Services revenue, expenditure and capital programmes impact on the financial resources available to this service to contribute to the following corporate strategy aims:

· Hampshire safer and more secure for all

· Maximising well being.

1.2 The budget proposals contained in this report are developed from the Corporate Business Plan, the Children and Young People's Plan and the service priorities. These have been developed to support the priorities of the Corporate Strategy.
