1. Summary

1.1. The following decision is sought:

The Executive Lead Member for Children's Services (Education) note the activity set out in this report and detailed at Appendix 1 and authorise officers to continue progressing the implementation of the recommendations agreed at Executive Members Decision Day, 11 October 2007.

The Executive Member to receive a further progress report in July following the transfer date of the workforce of South Central Connexions Partnership into Hampshire County Council Children's Services Department.

2. Reason

2.1. In 2006 the Government confirmed that the funding for Connexions services would be directed through Local Authorities to support the development of Integrated Youth Support Services.

2.2. On 23 January 2008, the Executive Lead Member for Children's Services (Education) requested a progress report be submitted in March 2008 prior to the transfer of the workforce from South Central Connexions Partnership into Hampshire County Council Children's Services Department.

2.3. This decision supports the following Hampshire County Council priority:

2.3.1.1.2. Maximising well-being

2.3.1.1.3. Enhancing our quality of place

2.4. The decision supports all the Aims of the Children Act 2004
