Capital Programme 2007/08 - Progress and Amendments

Report of the Director of Environment

Item 3

Contact: Helen Ackerman, tel 857806 email: [email protected]

1. Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

That changes to the 2007/08 capital programme approvals, arising from the removal of £1.094 million external funding which will now be spent directly by developers and will not come through the County Council's accounts, as set out in paragraph 3.3 of the report, be approved.

2. Reason

2.1 It is proposed that overall approvals are reduced by £1.094 million in order to exclude previously reported approvals that should not have been included, because spending will not come through the County Council's accounts.

2.2 The wide variety of improvements and maintenance projects that make up the Environment capital programme support the County Council's corporate priorities.

3. Other Options Considered and Rejected

3.1 The option not to amend the programme to reflect the latest estimates and programmes is not recommended, as it is likely to result in projects remaining in the programme that are undeliverable or unaffordable within a year.

4. Conflicts of Interest Declared by the Decision Maker or Other Executive Member Consulted - None.

5. Dispensation granted by the Standards Committee - None.

6. Reason(s) for the Matter being dealt with if Urgent - None.
