1. Summary

1.1 The following decisions were made:

(a) That £250,000 be allocated from the contingency to Recreation and
Heritage in 2008/09, on a recurring basis, to enable the service
developments outlined in this report.

(b) Noted that in making this exceptional transaction, the transfer of
the Commons Registration service from the Chief Executive's
department to the Recreation and Heritage department be
completed as soon as possible and under the terms already
negotiated. The final handover arrangements to be confirmed by
the Chief Executive in consultation with the Director of Recreation
and Heritage.

2. Reason

2.1 The County Council's budget for 2008/09 includes a contingency to cover unfunded budgetary pressures. It was agreed that allocations from the contingency would be approved by the Executive Member for Policy and Resources.

None.
