Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That the Executive Member for Policy and Resources approves:

The design project appraisal for the scheme at Elvetham Heath Primary School, Fleet at an estimated total cost of £3,031,000, excluding fees.

An extension to the existing commission for the design/development of the project with Mansell Construction, to a value of up to £250,000 in order to keep the project on target to meet the programme completion date in April 2009.

Reason

2.1

The proposed scheme will maximise wellbeing and enhance the quality of place for all users of the school.

Other options considered and rejected

3.1

The need to extend the building to provide capacity for up to 630 pupils has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the report are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
