Subject: Transport for South Hampshire Budget 2008/09

1. Summary

The following decisions are sought:

(i) That the Joint Committee approves the provisional Transport for South Hampshire Revenue Budget for 2008/09 on the basis of information provided, notably the anticipated level of contributions and awards from a variety of funding sources.

(ii) That the submission of Expressions of Interest for funding support for Bus Rapid Transit and Tipner Link under the Government's Community Infrastructure Fund be endorsed.

2. Reason

2.1 To enable the delivery of the objectives outlined in the TfSH Business Plan, agreed by the Joint Committee on 16 October 2007, a provisional balanced budget is presented for approval for 2008/09. Over the coming months, opportunities will be sought to assemble further funding from a variety of sources, to supplement the figures presented in this provisional budget.
