Subject: Coordinated Traffic Control and Travel Information
1. Summary
1.1 The following decisions are sought:
(i) That the interim conclusion that there is merit in moving towards some form of integrated service delivery be approved.
(ii) That the options identified in the report be approved for the purpose of setting the scope for future work.
2. Reason
2.1 This is an interim report which receives the results of the consultant's work to date which has been to identify options following an analysis of existing practice, not just by the local authorities but also by the Highways Agency and the Police.
3. Other Options Considered and Rejected
3.1 The only other possible option at this stage would be to stop the project because there were considered to be insufficient benefits to be gained from closer working. This is not the case.
