1 Summary

1.1 An application for financial assistance has been received from Christopher Leary of Haslemere towards the cost of him taking part in a three-week Outward Bound Trust (OBT) course at Ullswater in the Lake District during July/August. The cost of this is £1,220 which needs to be paid 8 weeks prior to departure.

1.2 So far Christopher has received £366 from OBT, £100 parental contribution and has raised £130 himself, leaving a shortfall of £624. The Children's Services Department has also been approached for a financial contribution from the Youth Opportunity Fund, the outcome of which is awaited.

1.3 Christopher, who is 12 years of age and attends Bohunt School in Liphook, plans to raise the remainder of the funding required from car boot sales and bag packing at a local supermarket. Monies from this will be shared equally with Help for Heroes (a charity for disabled servicemen).
