Endorsement of the County Overview Countryside Access Plan

1. Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

That the Executive Member endorses the County Overview Countryside Access Plan which, together with the 7 area CAPs, will form the Rights of Way Improvement Plan for Hampshire.

2. Reason

2.1 The Countryside Access Plans enable Hampshire County Council to modernise and improve the countryside access network, targeting its resources towards the improvements that people have told us they want. The plans aim to facilitate and promote enjoyment of the countryside for all sectors of the community, contributing to people's health, wellbeing and an appreciation of Hampshire's countryside. They also provide a framework for coordination of effort with partner organisations and a well-researched basis to support applications for external funding.
