Extra Care Housing

Summary

1.1

The following decisions are sought:

That approval be given to:

a) the proposal set out in the report concerning the use of County Council land for future Extra Care housing schemes; and

b) the selection criteria for determining future Registered Social Landlord partners for individual schemes (where appropriate).

Reason

2.1

The decision supports the Corporate Priorities of maximising wellbeing by creating new Extra Care affordable housing accommodation to provide improved flexibility and choice for older persons, and of enhancing our quality of place by encouraging the re-use of poor-performing sheltered housing schemes, whether by redevelopment, new build or by enhancing the existing property.
