Contact: Rory Fitzgerald, Business Support Manager, IT Services Ext: 7415, email: [email protected]

1 Summary

1.1 This report identifies a debt of £13,000 for which Executive Member's approval is required for write-off.

1.2 The report supports the corporate priority of Maximising Well-Being by ensuring actions are taken to minimise income loss.

2 Reason

2.1 It is recommended that this debt be written off because the recipient of grant funding which we have attempted to recover would cease trading if the County Council were to continue to seek to recover the debt. This would be to the possible detriment of other Broadband users in Hampshire served by this company.

2.2 HCC's role in this matter has been to administer this grant on behalf of SEEDA and they have stated that they will not seek to recover the funds.

3 Conflicts of interest declared by the decision maker or other Executive Member consulted - none.

4 Dispensation granted by the Standards Committee - none.

5 Reason(s) for the matter being dealt with if urgent - none.
