Reason |
2.1 |
This report sets out the results of the marketing for the disposal of the Former Older Persons' Home (Chrismas Lodge), Aldershot. The marketing period resulted in a number of offers and a preferred purchaser identified. |
2.2 |
The proposed sale supports the Corporate Priorities of maximising wellbeing and enhancing our quality of place by securing a capital receipt for reinvestment in retained core stock residential homes having facilitated the redevelopment of the site whilst maintaining the integrity of the adjoining public open space. |

|
3.1 |
Hampshire County Council to obtain an outline planning consent for the redevelopment of the site prior to marketing. This option was rejected in light of continuing delays in the adoption of planning policies relating to the Thames Heath Basin Special Protection Area and the market uncertainty that will be caused in further delaying the disposal. |
