1 Summary

1.1 The following decision is sought:

That the Executive Lead Member for Children's Services approves the Workforce Plan for 2008/2009 together with the staffing changes identified in the report and the continuing need for the workforce to develop and change to continue to deliver services in line with the aims of the Children Act and local need.

2 Reason

2.1 This decision supports the following Hampshire County Council priorities:

"Making Hampshire safer and more secure for all" - by ensuring staffing is in place in order to deliver the service required.

"Maximising well-being" - by enabling professional staff to deliver services effectively to the children and young people of Hampshire.

2.2 The decision supports the following Aims of the Children Act:

Being healthy; Staying safe; Enjoying and achieving; Making a positive contribution; Economic well-being, as it supports the development, recruitment and retention of staff providing the service to the children and young people of Hampshire in line with the Children Act.
