1 Summary

1.1 That the following decision is made:-

1.1.1 That the Executive Lead Member for Children's Services (Education) approves the statutory proposal by the governing body of St Bede's Catholic Voluntary Aided Primary School, Basingstoke with the modification that the admission number at the school be increased from 30 to 45 from 1 September 2009.

1.1.2 That the above approval is conditional upon the grant of planning permission by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council in regard to the siting of the required temporary accommodation, such permission to be obtained by 31 March 2009.

2 Reason

2.1 The Education and Inspection Act 2006 School Organisation (Prescribed Alterations to Maintained Schools) (England) Regulations 2007 determine that decisions on the expansion of schools will be taken by the local authority.
