1) Summary

The following decision is proposed:

1.1. That the Executive Lead Member for Children's Services (Education) advises the Executive Member for Policy and Resources that the scheme to provide a new post-16 provision building at Hamble Community Sports College be approved at a total estimated cost of £5,945,000, excluding fees.

2) Reasons for the decision

2.1. The proposed scheme will maximise wellbeing and enhance the quality of place by providing a purpose-built post-16 provision facility which will be complementary to those provided by the Eastleigh consortium of colleges.

The need for the works has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the report are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
