The following decision was made:

1.1. That the three debts totalling £21,842.55 including VAT be written off as set out in the exempt supporting paper.

2) Reasons for the decision

2.1. This report does not make any direct link to the corporate Strategy, but a formal decision on the recommendation is required to minimise further loss.

3) Other options considered and rejected:

3.1. Pursue the debt through legal means - This has not been pursued due to the potentially high costs involved with no realistic opportunity to recover any of the outstanding debt.

3.2. Take no further action - This has not been pursued as it is contrary to the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) guidelines and County Council practice.
