1) Summary

    The following decision(s) is proposed:

 

    1.1. That the participation of the County Council as lead partner in a consortium of European regional authorities and academic bodies developing a project proposal as part of the European Union's INTERREG IVC programme be approved.

 

    1.2. That the Recreation and Heritage Department be authorised to undertake, in consultation with partners, the preparation of a funding bid for submission to the INTERREG IVC programme.

 

2) Reasons for the decision

    2.1. The proposed project is highly relevant to the strategic priorities of the County Council (particularly Maximising Wellbeing) and the service strategy of the Recreation an Heritage Department

    2.2. Leadership of the project will ensure that the project is strongly aligned with these objectives and the results are of direct benefit.

    2.3. The work involved in the preparation of the bid is justified by the potential benefits to the people of Hampshire and the County Council.
