1) Summary

    The following decision was made:

 

    1.1. That the recommendation made by the conciliator in respect of costs due to Veolia Environmental Services Hampshire as a result of the change of site and architectural enhancement for the Marchwood Energy Recovery Facility be approved.

 

2) Reasons for the decision

    2.1. Hampshire County Council has an outstanding contractual liability to pay the long term waste disposal contractor Veolia Environmental Services Hampshire costs relating to change of site and architectural enhancement for the Marchwood Energy Recovery Facility.

    2.2. The costs have been determined through a conciliation process. A decision is required as to whether the conciliator's recommendation is accepted.

    2.3. The Executive Member for Environment supports the conciliator's recommendation.

    3.1. Option 1: That the Executive Member for Policy and Resources rejects the conciliator's recommendation and recommends pursuing settlement through arbitration.
