1) Summary:

The following decisions were made:

1.1. Not to progress the proposal (March 2008) to engage with a commercial partner to provide multi-media content on Hantsweb.

1.2. To approve the detail of the proposed in-house solution which could be provided by IT Services and Corporate Communications.

2) Reasons for the decision:

These are the reasons for this decision being made, including any links to the corporate strategy:

2.1. An in-house solution is proposed that would be more cost effective for, and reduces potential risk to, the County Council.

3) Other options considered and rejected:

3.1. Option 1: make the decision not to put in place the mechanism to enable multi-media content on Hantsweb.

a) Risk Assessment: this would not in the best interests of the County Council as it needs to meet the demands of more parts of the community increasingly accessing more information online and meet the needs of those who do not respond to more traditional methods of communication.

3.2. Option 2: move forward with the trial with the commercial partner

a) Risk Assessment: this course of action would cause unnecessary risk to the County Council when an in-house solution is available.
