1) Summary

The following decision is proposed:

1.1. That additional works and funding at the following schools are approved:

Aldworth Science College, Basingstoke

Freegrounds Infant School, Hedge End

Riverside Special School, Waterlooville


1.2. That the overall position of the major capital projects being undertaken by the Acting Director of Property, Business and Regulatory Services be approved, as detailed the attached schedule.

2) Reasons for the decision

2.1 To provide enhanced school accommodation and facilities.


2.2 The schemes within this report generally reflect the priorities of the Corporate Strategy by providing excellent school facilities which enhance the quality of place, providing safer and more accessible facilities and maximising well-being, thus benefiting all users of the premises.

3.1. Option 1:

The need of the school for the facilities in question has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the report are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
