1) Summary |
The full report is not for publication as it contains exempt information within Paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972. This exempt information relates to the financial and business affairs of the current provider agencies. |
The following decisions were made: |
1.1 That approval is given to undertake single tenders for the pre-existing structured community based drug treatment services to provide stability and continuity of provision, pending the outcome of the Substance Misuse Strategic Review process which will be fully implemented by March 2010. 1.2 That a further report is made to the Executive Member for a decision in February 2009, regarding the proposals for substance misuse service provision following the Substance Misuse Strategic Review process. |
2) Reasons for the decision |
2.1. The Hampshire DAAT are currently leading a Strategic Review of all Substance Misuse Services in the county and the outcomes will be fully implemented by March 2010. This request is being made as an interim measure to continue existing services in a more formal manner under contract, so as not to destabilise and disrupt current services until that date. |
2.2. The services under consideration are of a specialised nature which can only be carried out by a specialised contractor. |
3) Other options considered and rejected: |
3.1. There were no other options considered and rejected. This approval is being sought on the advice of Hampshire's Legal Department as the only option to formalise the existing service delivery arrangements. |
