1) Summary

    The following decisions were made:

 

    1.1. That the Executive Member for Adult Social Care approve a grant of £19,080 to The Stroke Association for research into the incidence and variety of social care support services and their quality and outputs for stroke survivors in Hampshire.

 

    1.2. That the Executive Member for Adult Social Care approve a grant of £5,920 to The Stroke Association for enabling stroke survivors and their carers to be directly involved in the research carried out by the Association.

 

2) Reasons for the decision

    2.1. These services support the Corporate priority of Hampshire safer and more secure for all and maximising well-being.

    2.2. The Stroke Association is the sole organisation in the voluntary sector that delivers specialist community based services to stroke survivors and their families.

    2.3. Local social care data on current needs and support required for stroke survivors is not available to enable future development of service as required by The National Stroke Strategy

    2.4. The Hampshire Primary Care Trust also grant aids The Stroke Association for the provision of community based support services. This is part of an ongoing partnership arrangement.
