1) Summary |
The following decisions were made: |
1.1. That the Executive Member for Adult Social Care approve a grant of £19,080 to The Stroke Association for research into the incidence and variety of social care support services and their quality and outputs for stroke survivors in Hampshire. |
1.2. That the Executive Member for Adult Social Care approve a grant of £5,920 to The Stroke Association for enabling stroke survivors and their carers to be directly involved in the research carried out by the Association. |
2) Reasons for the decision |
2.1. These services support the Corporate priority of Hampshire safer and more secure for all and maximising well-being. |
2.2. The Stroke Association is the sole organisation in the voluntary sector that delivers specialist community based services to stroke survivors and their families. |
2.3. Local social care data on current needs and support required for stroke survivors is not available to enable future development of service as required by The National Stroke Strategy |
2.4. The Hampshire Primary Care Trust also grant aids The Stroke Association for the provision of community based support services. This is part of an ongoing partnership arrangement. |
