Access to services for people with alcohol problems

To receive the report of an in depth scrutiny review, obtain responses from decision makers, plan and carry out progress monitoring

Chairman of the review

Committee delegated the review to a scrutiny review group, which held its first meeting in June 2007.

The chairman reported progress to the committee during 2007.

The report was received and endorsed at April 2008 meeting. The report was subsequently communicated to the relevant Executive portfolio holders and external agencies for a response.

Responses to the recommendations were considered by the Committee in July, and a timetable for the receipt of progress reports on responses to recommendations was agreed for 2008/09. First monitoring progress reports received in October 2008.

The demand for well being services in the home

To undertake an in-depth scrutiny review during 2008/09

Councillors Clarke and Dowdon, and Scrutiny Officer

Scoping was undertaken during May and June and progress was reported in July. The July Committee supported a joint scrutiny focused on how the independence of people with disabilities and older people is supported through access to information and advice about housing maintenance, adaptation and improvements. Decision reversed subsequently by Committee in October when alternative topic was adopted. Outcome: no further action.
