1) Summary

The following decision was made:

That the Executive Lead Member for Children's Services (Education) approves the design for the proposed extension at Crofton School, Stubbington, at an estimated total cost of £830,000 (including fees of £117,500).

2) Reasons for the decision

The scheme will maximise wellbeing by providing specialist support for young people with severe ASD need specialist support. The proposal also supports the following outcomes of Every Child Matters: enjoy and achieve; making a positive contribution; achieve economic wellbeing.

The need for the works has been identified as a priority and the works set out in the report are considered to be the most appropriate and cost-effective way of meeting that need.
