1) Summary:

The following decision was made :

1.1. That the Executive Lead Member for Children's Services (Education) considers the summary of the consultation responses and approves the school term and holiday dates as set out in Appendix 2 of the report, for the school year 2010/2011.

2) Reasons for the decision:

2.1. This report sets out the proposed pattern of school terms and holiday dates in 2010/2011 to be followed by Hampshire's community and voluntary controlled schools. This report has been compiled following consultation with representatives from HCC's Conditions of Service Working Party (CoSWoP)and further wider consultation with schools.

3) Other options considered and rejected:

3.1. Option 1: The Local Government Associations (LGA) model

a) Risk Assessment: In previous years the authority has, in keeping with many other authorities, recommended the LGA proposal for term and holiday dates. As detailed in the report, the authority and CoSWoP felt unable to recommend the LGA model.
