1) The following decision was made

1.1. That the Executive Member approves the Hampshire Young Carers Strategy (2009 - 2012)

2) Reasons for the decision

These are the reasons for this decision being made, including any links to the corporate strategy.

2.1. Executive Member decision needed to finalise a draft strategy presented in July 2008.

2.2. This strategy contributes to Hampshire being safer and more secure as reduces the incidence of bullying of young carers and improves self-esteem.

2.3. Maximising well-being is achieved as young carers health, social and educational needs are better met.

2.4. The strategy links with achieving the 5 Every Child Matters outcomes.
