This grant will enable Hampshire Netball Association to develop further a county plan for Netball which will help increase links with schools to community clubs, support clubs to achieve Club Accreditation, increase competitive opportunities and develop its coaches, volunteers and young officials.

This grant will enable Hampshire Athletics County Association to develop further a county plan for Athletics which will increase participation for young people through school club links, competition and initiatives such as Star Track. It will also help to increase adult participation in athletics through road running clubs, support club development and increase the coach, officials and volunteer workforce.

Hampshire Badminton Association

This partnership funding will support the revenue operation of the specialist Westgate Badminton Performance and Development Centre which works with over 100 talented young players and has helped to produce one member of the England Badminton team. It also provides for recreational clubs and activity.

The partnership funding will also support the delivery of two Centres of Excellence which prepare Hampshire players for national competition.

Solent Sea Rescue Organisation

Solent Sea Rescue Organisation (SSRO) provides financial, training and administrative support to nine beach and sea rescue units around the Solent. All the units are declared to HM Coastguard. The county council is one of eight local authorities contributing to SSRO whose combined support ensures that the nine beach and sea rescue units receive grants totalling around £21,000 together with group insurance cover.

This project supports the corporate priority of Hampshire safer and more secure for all.

Cllr Edgar, the County Council's representative on this organisation, has been consulted.

Hampshire Swimming Association

This partnership funding is to support the Hampshire Youth Potential Squad, a group of 40 young swimmers in Hampshire who are demonstrating the potential to swim competitively at the highest level. A gap has been identified immediately below the level of elite swimmers catered for within World Class Programmes, hence this provision is necessary to prepare swimmers for the intensive demands of the World Class Programmes they should move into in the future. The grant will be used to offer swimmers training camps, specialised swim clinics, ongoing physiotherapy and nutritional support and mentoring opportunities for club coaches on how to coach elite swimmers. This is an integral part of the Amateur Swimming Association's Long Term Athlete Development Plan.

The Association provides technical, legal and financial advice to voluntary and other sports organisations; financial support to local voluntary clubs, Parish/Town Councils and children's play associations; guidance in the preparation of lottery applications and works with other partners to provide sporting and challenging opportunities for disadvantaged young people.

This project supports all three corporate aims and the sports strategy aims of developing young people, performance and excellence and active participation throughout life.

As this is a countywide organisation, consultation has taken place with Cllr. Rice (Chairman of the Hampshire Playing Fields Association) and Cllr Byrom, who is an appointed member of the Association's Executive Committee.

Hampshire Rugby Football Union for Women continues to make steady progress with their U15, U18 and senior squads.

The grant will support further the development work aimed at increasing participation opportunities within existing clubs by linking them to local schools and to develop participation and competition structures around other clubs in the county. Further development will also be supported to promote participation at local FE Colleges to support the senior game within the county.

Additionally, the grant will help towards maintaining an administrative base at Sparsholt College Hampshire, together with a High Performance Centre to support players and coaches.
