1) Summary:

    The following decision is proposed:

1.1. That the Executive Member approves the appointment of Councillor J Bryant as the County Council's representative on the North of Fareham Strategic Development Area Community Liaison Group.

2) Reasons for the decision:

2.1. Fareham Borough Council has established the Group to help implement an inclusive consultation programme to ensure that the local community is given the opportunity to become engaged in the process of helping to shape the development.

2.2. Nominations have been sought from established residents/community groups in the area, local business groups, the voluntary sector, the Fareham Local Strategic Partnership, and a local Member representative from both Hampshire County Council and Winchester City Council, as well as local Fareham Borough Council members.

2.3. The County Council has an executive role with regard to highways and other transport infrastructure, as well as schools and other services and therefore it is important that the County Council is represented on the Group.

3) Other options considered and rejected:

3.1. Not to appoint a County Council representative.
