1) The Decision: |
1.1. That the Executive Member for Policy and Resources approves the allocation of LABGI funding as set out in the supporting report, and that the proposals being put forward are reviewed in one year's time to assess what, if any, further action should be taken and whether any further provision from the new economic prosperity reserve should be made at that time. |
1.2. That the following specific proposals be supported: a.) Support package for the independent retail sector at £80,000 b.) Smarter working centres at £100,000 c.) Promoting volunteering and work experience at £50,000 d.) Grant aiding the provision of apprenticeships by businesses at £195,000 |

Do nothing - would leave the residents and businesses of Hampshire without targeted support in the face of the recession |

a) Do something different - the proposals put forward address the strategic objectives of the Council in supporting threatened business sectors of the economy (the retail sector is particularly hit), in promoting homeworking and sustainable business practices, and in developing skills through effective support for work opportunities and training |
