Access to services for people with alcohol problems

To receive the report of an in depth scrutiny review, obtain responses from decision makers, plan and carry out progress monitoring

Chairman of the review

Committee delegated the review to a scrutiny review group, which held its first meeting in June 2007.

The report was received and endorsed at April 2008 meeting.

Responses to the recommendations were considered by the Committee in July, and a timetable for the receipt of progress reports on responses to recommendations was agreed for 2008/09. First monitoring progress reports received in October 2008.

An ageing population

To undertake an in-depth scrutiny review during 2008/09

Councillor West, Chairman and Scrutiny Officer

Topic adopted at October meeting. Following scoping by the Scrutiny Officer, the Chairman reported back to the January meeting regarding the focus of the review to be on age-proofing mainstream public services. Outcome: further progress reports to be communicated to the Committee during 2009/10
