1) Summary

    The following decisions were made:

 

    1.1. That the eight dwellings at Mitchell Buildings, Yateley and Velmead Road, Fleet be marketed to new members of staff joining schools in the north-east of the County; and

    1.2. the Director of Property Business and Regulatory Services (Interim Head of Estates) be asked to explore options for management of the property, either through purchase or lease, by Registered Social Landlords including the potential to meet emergency and short-term needs; and

    1.3. the Director of Property Business and Regulatory Services (Interim Head of Estates) be asked to report back in the autumn on the level of take-up by staff, and with proposals for the long-term ownership and occupation of the dwellings.

 

2) Reasons for the decision

    2.1. To ensure that the currently under-utilised residential accommodation is brought into effective use.

    3.1. Option 1:

    Retaining the dwellings in County Council ownership and investing in necessary improvements.

    3.2 Option 2:

    Disposal of the dwellings, either on the open market or to a housing association.
